Shared Full Day Tour: Base Torres Hike.

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll head out early to take on Torres del Paine’s most iconic hike: the Base de Torres Hike! The trail ascends upwards from the outside of the massif of mountains toward the Ascencio Valley; along the way, be sure to pause and look around to take in the spectacular scenery. Watch the famous view of the dramatic Tres Torres: the trio of granite spires for which the park is named, rising above a blue glacial lake. We’ll pause here a while to rest, enjoy lunch, and soak up the view before retracing our steps back to the trailhead. From there, we’ll drive back to the hotel for a well-deserved rest.

Shared Full Day Tour: French Valley Hike.

The French Valley is one of the three main highlights of  the “W” Trek — the famous circuit that navigates the mountains of Torres del Paine in a w-shaped path — and it is one of the most striking places along the route.

The day begins at Pudeto Dock on the far side of the vibrant Lake Pehoe, where we will take a catamaran across the lake to the Paine Grande ranger station. We’ll hike upwards into the mountains to the entry point of the French Valley called the French Lookout, where you’ll be treated to amazing views of the surrounding mountains, lakes, and a hanging glacier that regularly calves icebergs down the mountain walls.

After a pause for lunch and to soak up the scenery, we’ll retrace our steps back to the catamaran, recross the lake, and return to the hotel for the evening.

Meals: Breakfast, Box Lunch, Dinner.

Shared Full Day Tour: Grey Glacier Lookout.

The final highlight of the W Trek, besides the Torres and the French Valley, is the Grey Glacier on the western end of the trek, and this hike takes us to one of the best viewpoints of this marvel of nature.

Same as the day before, we’ll take the catamaran across Pehoe Lake to Paine Grande before starting the hike, this time heading in the opposite direction. The path starts heading up along the slopes, crossing gently undulating ravines and providing sweeping landscape views before reaching the Grey Glacier Lookout, which has an incredible panoramic view of Grey Lake and its glacier.

After a break here, we’ll return the way we came and head back to the hotel.

Then, we’ll arrive at Los Glaciares National Park before the crowds that come later in the day. With less people around, we’ll be able to appreciate the glacier’s beauty even more. We’ll walk along the foot bridges to the viewpoint. We’ll drive to the Port to hop on the boat for the Nautical Safari that will sail in front of the glacier and provide a thrilling, up-close experience. Returning to the dock, we’ll then head to the Los Notros viewpoint, where we’ll enjoy a refreshing “Calafate” liquor drink before heading back to El Calafate and the hotel.

Continuing on, we’ll reach the highest point on the route, which offers breathtaking views of Mount Fitz Roy, the Los Tres Glacier, and its glacial lagoon.

We’ll eat lunch and admire the views before returning back the way we came, making a small detour to visit Laguna Capri which has one of the best views of Fitz Roy.
